Background

ARL13B, also known as ADP-ribosylation factor-like protein 13B, is a small GTPase belonging to the ADP-ribosylation factor family and the Ras superfamily of GTPases. It is encoded by the ARL13B gene in humans and is predominantly localized in primary cilia. This protein plays a crucial role in cilia formation and maintenance. Mutations in the ARL13B gene can lead to Joubert syndrome, a ciliopathy characterized by brain malformations, polydactyly, and renal cyst formation. ARL13B is also involved in regulating intraflagellar transport and the localization of other proteins within the cilium, such as Smoothened (Smo), which is essential for Sonic hedgehog (Shh) signaling. Additionally, ARL13B has been found to promote the proliferation, migration, and osteogenesis of osteoblasts, suggesting its potential role in bone formation and mechanosensation.

Goat polyclonal Antibody to Rabbit IgG - H&L (Alexa Fluor® 488) was used as secondary antibody at 1/1000 dilution. The cells were fixed with 100% ice-cold methanol and permeabilized with 0.1% PBS-Triton X-100. Nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (Blue). Counterstain with tubulin (Red).

IF shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded rat brain. Anti-ARL13B antibody was used at 1/500 dilution (Green) and incubated overnight at 4°C. Goat polyclonal Antibody to Rabbit IgG - H&L (Alexa Fluor® 488) was used as secondary antibody at 1/1000 dilution. Counterstained with DAPI (Blue).
