Background
Napsin A is a pepsin-like aspartic proteinase predominantly expressed in type II pneumocytes and renal tubular cells; it is widely used as an immunohistochemical marker because its strong cytoplasmic staining is present in ~85 % of lung adenocarcinomas while being virtually absent in squamous cell carcinomas, making it valuable for distinguishing primary pulmonary adenocarcinoma from other tumor types.

Immunohistochemistry
IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded human lung. Anti-Napsin A antibody was used at 1/2000 dilution, followed by a HRP Polymer for Mouse & Rabbit IgG (ready to use). Counterstained with hematoxylin. Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris/EDTA buffer pH9.0 was performed before commencing with IHC staining protocol.
IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded human kidney.
Negative control: IHC shows negative staining in paraffin-embedded human cerebral cortex.
