Background
KIF5B, encoded by the KIF5B gene, is the ubiquitously-expressed heavy chain of kinesin-1 that converts ATP into mechanical force to drive anterograde transport of mitochondria, lysosomes, ER/Golgi-derived vesicles, mRNAs, and GLUT4/CD36 glucose/fatty-acid transporter-containing granules along microtubules, thereby governing mitochondrial positioning, metabolic homeostasis, insulin secretion, neuronal dendritic spine plasticity, synaptic receptor trafficking, and cytokinesis .

Immunocytochemistry
ICC shows positive staining in HeLa cells. Anti-KIF5B antibody was used at 1/100 dilution (Green) and incubated overnight at 4°C. Goat polyclonal Antibody to Rabbit IgG - H&L (Alexa Fluor® 488) was used as secondary antibody at 1/1000 dilution. The cells were fixed with 4% PFA and permeabilized with 0.1% PBS-Triton X-100. Nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (Blue). Counterstain with tubulin (Red).
