Background
ELP3 (Elongator complex protein 3, also known as KAT9) is the catalytic histone acetyltransferase subunit of the highly conserved Elongator complex (composed of ELP1–ELP6) that associates with RNA polymerase II to facilitate transcriptional elongation via acetylation of histones H3 and H4, while also exhibiting cytoplasmic roles in α-tubulin acetylation to regulate neuronal migration and axonal branching, modifying wobble uridines in tRNAs to enhance translational efficiency, and participating in DNA demethylation after fertilization, cell migration, and redox homeostasis through acetylation of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase, with its dysfunction implicated in neurodevelopmental disorders and tumor progression.

Immunocytochemistry
ICC shows positive staining in HeLa cells. Anti- ELP3 antibody was used at 1/100 dilution (Green) and incubated overnight at 4°C. Goat polyclonal Antibody to Rabbit IgG - H&L (Alexa Fluor® 488) was used as secondary antibody at 1/1000 dilution. The cells were fixed with 4% PFA and permeabilized with 0.1% PBS-Triton X-100. Nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (Blue). Counterstain with tubulin (Red).
