Background

The Phospho-Akt Substrate (RXXS*/T*) antibody is a specific antibody primarily used to identify and detect substrate proteins phosphorylated by Akt kinase and other related AGC kinase family members. This antibody recognizes protein sequences containing phosphorylated serine or threonine (S*/T*), with the key feature being the presence of an arginine (R) at the -3 position, forming the characteristic R-X-X-pS/pT motif. Within cellular signal transduction, Akt kinase is the central component of the PI3K/Akt pathway, which regulates critical biological processes such as cell growth, survival, proliferation, and metabolism. By targeting this specific phosphorylation motif, the antibody can be employed in various experimental techniques like Western Blot, immunoprecipitation, and immunohistochemistry.
