Background

Interferon-induced protein with tetratricopeptide repeats 3 (IFIT3) is a key player in the immune response, particularly in antiviral defense and cellular signaling regulation. It is a member of the IFIT family and interferon-stimulated genes family, with a structure defined by tetratricopeptide repeats (TPRs) that facilitate protein-protein interactions. IFIT3 plays a crucial role in antiviral innate immunity by recognizing viral RNA and activating immune pathways, leading to antiviral responses. It also modulates the intensity and duration of immune responses, influencing processes like apoptosis and cell survival. In addition to its antiviral functions, IFIT3 is involved in cellular biology changes, including cell proliferation, apoptosis, differentiation, and cancer development. For example, in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, high expression of IFIT3 strengthens the anti-apoptotic ability of cancer cells and increases their resistance to chemotherapeutic drugs.

Immunohistochemistry

IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded human colon. Anti-LFIT3 antibody was used at 1/50 dilution, followed by a HRP Polymer for Mouse & Rabbit IgG (ready to use). Counterstained with hematoxylin. Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris/EDTA buffer pH9.0 was performed before commencing with IHC staining protocol.

IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded human kidney.

IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded human lung. Anti-LFIT3 antibody was used at 1/200 dilution, followed by a HRP Polymer for Mouse & Rabbit IgG (ready to use). Counterstained with hematoxylin. Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris/EDTA buffer pH9.0 was performed before commencing with IHC staining protocol.

IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded human spleen.
