Background
CENPB protein, which stands for centromere protein B, is a crucial component of the centromere, a specialized region on chromosomes. It plays a vital role in ensuring proper chromosome segregation during cell division. CENPB is involved in the formation and maintenance of centromeric chromatin, helping to establish and stabilize the structure of the centromere. This protein also aids in the recruitment of other essential centromere-associated proteins, thereby facilitating the assembly of the kinetochore, a complex protein structure that forms on the centromere and is essential for the attachment of spindle microtubules during mitosis and meiosis. Mutations or abnormalities in CENPB can lead to chromosomal instability and are associated with various genetic disorders and cancers.

Immunocytochemistry
ICC shows positive staining in A431 cells. Anti-CENPB antibody was used at 1/500 dilution (Green) and incubated overnight at 4°C. Goat polyclonal Antibody to Rabbit IgG - H&L (Alexa Fluor® 488) was used as secondary antibody at 1/1000 dilution. The cells were fixed with 100% ice-cold methanol and permeabilized with 0.1% PBS-Triton X-100. Nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (Blue). Counterstain with tubulin (Red).
