Background
Signal regulatory protein α (Signal Regulatory Protein α, SIRP-α), also known as SHPS-1, is a transmembrane protein. SIRPα is highly expressed on the membranes of myeloid cells, such as macrophages, granulocytes, monocytes, and myeloid dendritic cells. It regulates cell migration and phagocytic activities, as well as the formation of immune homeostasis and neural networks.
