Background

Rab5 is a key member of the Rab GTPase family, which plays a crucial role in the regulation of early endocytic events. It is primarily located on early endosomes and is involved in the fusion of endocytic vesicles with these structures, as well as in the regulation of membrane receptor internalization and transport. Rab5 functions by recruiting effector proteins to early endosomes, participating in endosome transport, and impacting membrane receptor internalization, transport, and related signaling pathways. These activities are essential for gene transcription and various cellular biological processes. The protein also plays a role in coordinating the "division of labor" within the endocytic network and is a major determinant in the progression of endosomes from an early to a late stage.

Immunocytochemistry

Goat polyclonal Antibody to Rabbit IgG - H&L (Alexa Fluor® 488) was used as secondary antibody at 1/1000 dilution. The cells were fixed with 4% PFA and permeabilized with 0.1% PBS-Triton X-100. Nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (Blue). Counterstain with tubulin (Red).
