Background
Prohibitin is a highly conserved, multifunctional protein complex—existing as two homologous subunits, PHB1 and PHB2—that localizes primarily to the inner mitochondrial membrane, nucleus, plasma membrane and cytosol, where it serves as a critical regulator of mitochondrial biogenesis, respiratory chain assembly and integrity, cellular senescence, apoptosis and lipid metabolism, while also acting as a transcriptional corepressor for nuclear receptors and a potential tumor suppressor, with deregulated expression implicated in obesity-linked metabolic disorders, neurodegenerative diseases and diverse cancers.

Goat polyclonal Antibody to Rabbit IgG - H&L (Alexa Fluor® 488) was used as secondary antibody at 1/1000 dilution. The cells were fixed with 4% PFA and permeabilized with 0.1% PBS-Triton X-100. Nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (Blue). Counterstain with tubulin (Red).
