Background
eIF4E(eukaryotic initiation factor 4E)is a crucial eukaryotic translation initiation factor. It plays a key role in the initiation of protein synthesis by recognizing and binding to the 7-methylguanosine cap structure at the 5' end of eukaryotic mRNA. This binding facilitates the recruitment of the ribosome and other initiation factors to the mRNA, thereby promoting the start of translation. eIF4E is highly conserved across different eukaryotic species and is involved in a variety of biological processes such as cell growth, proliferation, and differentiation. Its activity can be regulated by various mechanisms including phosphorylation and interaction with other proteins. Abnormal expression or function of eIF4E has been implicated in several diseases, including cancer, where it may contribute to tumor development and progression by promoting the translation of oncogenic mRNAs.

Immunocytochemistry
ICC shows positive staining in HEK293 cells. Anti- eIF4E antibody was used at 1/500 dilution (Green) and incubated overnight at 4°C. Goat polyclonal Antibody to Rabbit IgG - H&L (Alexa Fluor® 488) was used as secondary antibody at 1/1000 dilution. The cells were fixed with 4% PFA and permeabilized with 0.1% PBS-Triton X-100. Nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (Blue). Counterstain with tubulin (Red).
