IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded mouse spleen. Anti-CD11c antibody was used at 1/250 dilution, followed by a HRP Polymer for Mouse & Rabbit IgG (ready to use). Counterstained with hematoxylin. Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris/EDTA buffer pH9.0 was performed before commencing with IHC staining protocol.

Background
CD11c is a type I transmembrane protein and a member of the β2 integrin family, primarily expressed on dendritic cells, monocytes, macrophages, neutrophils, and some B cells. It forms a heterodimer with CD18, known as integrin αXβ2. This molecule plays a crucial role in immune cell functions such as adhesion, phagocytosis, and cell migration. CD11c is also involved in the regulation of B cell homeostasis and the development of T cells in the thymus. Additionally, it has been implicated in the clearance of apoptotic cells by microglia during developmental apoptosis.
