Background
LAIR1 (Leukocyte-Associated Immunoglobulin-like Receptor 1) is an inhibitory immune receptor primarily expressed on myeloid cells and lymphocytes. It regulates immune responses by transmitting inhibitory signals through immunoreceptor tyrosine-based inhibitory motifs (ITIMs) upon binding to ligands like collagen or other extracellular matrix components. LAIR1 modulates inflammation, autoimmunity, and antitumor immunity, acting as a checkpoint to prevent excessive immune activation.
