Background
IRF3 is a member of the interferon regulatory transcription factor (IRF) family. IRF3 plays an important role in the innate immune system's response to viral infection. It is found in an inactive cytoplasmic form that upon serine/threonine phosphorylation forms a complex with CREBBP. The complex translocates into the nucleus for the transcriptional activation of interferons alpha and beta, and further interferon-induced genes.

IRF-3 Rabbit mAb at 1/50 dilution (1 µg) immunoprecipitating IRF-3 in 0.4 mg THP-1 whole cell lysate.
Western blot was performed on the immunoprecipitate using IRF-3 Rabbit mAb at 1/1000 dilution.
Secondary antibody (HRP) for IP was used at 1/400 dilution.

Immunohistochemistry
IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded human tonsil. Anti-IRF3 antibody was used at 1/250 dilution, followed by a HRP Polymer for Mouse & Rabbit IgG (ready to use). Counterstained with hematoxylin. Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris/EDTA buffer pH9.0 was performed before commencing with IHC staining protocol.
