Flow cytometric analysis of Human CD11b expression on human PBMC (human peripheral blood mononuclear cell). Human PBMC were stained with Brilliant Violet 510™ Mouse Anti-Human CD14 antibody and either APC Rat IgG2b, κ Isotype Control (Left panel) or SDT APC Rat Anti- Human CD11b antibody (Right panel) at 5 μl/test. Flow cytometry and data analysis were performed using BD FACSymphony™ A1 and FlowJo™ software.

Background
CD11b, also known as integrin alpha M (ITGAM), is a cell surface receptor belonging to the integrin family and primarily expressed on immune cells such as macrophages, monocytes, neutrophils, and NK cells. It forms a heterodimer with CD18 to create the β2 integrin complex, which is crucial for mediating cell adhesion, migration, and immune responses. CD11b plays a significant role in leukocyte recruitment and activation during inflammation and immune responses by interacting with ligands like ICAM-1 and iC3b. Additionally, it is involved in phagocytosis and immune regulation in various diseases, including cancer and autoimmune conditions.
