Background

Phospho-EphA3 (Tyr779) is the ligand-triggered, autophosphorylated form of the receptor tyrosine kinase EphA3 that localizes within the kinase domain; its phosphorylation is essential for full receptor activation, creates a docking site for the SH2-domain adaptor CrkII, and thereby couples EphA3 to downstream RhoA/ROCK signaling to regulate actomyosin dynamics, cell adhesion, migration and neurite retraction.
