Background

CD191 (officially designated CD191, also termed C-C chemokine receptor type 1, CCR1) is a 41 kDa seven-transmembrane G-protein-coupled receptor encoded by the CCR1 gene on chromosome 3p; it is predominantly expressed on monocytes, granulocytes, and a subset of T cells, where it binds the CC chemokines CCL3 (MIP-1α), CCL5 (RANTES), CCL7 (MCP-3) and CCL23 (MPIF-1) to trigger intracellular signaling that mediates chemotactic recruitment of effector leukocytes to inflammatory sites, thereby playing key roles in host defense against infection, regulation of inflammatory responses, and susceptibility to viral and parasitic pathogens.

Flow cytometric analysis of Human CD191 expression on Human PBMC. Human PBMC were stained with Brilliant Violet 480™ Mouse Anti-Human CD14 antibody and either APC Mouse IgG1, κ Isotype Control (Left panel) or SDT APC Mouse Anti- Human CD191 antibody (Right panel) at 1.25 μl/test. Flow cytometry and data analysis were performed using BD FACSymphony™ A1 and FlowJo™ software.
