Background
TNF-like cytokine 1A (TL1A) is a member of the TNF and TNF receptor superfamily. TL1A constitutes a cytokine system that actively interferes with the regulation of immune responses. TL-1A is predominantly expressed in endothelial cells and its expression is inducible by TNF-α and IL-1α. TL1A binds with high affinity to death receptor 3 (DR3), known as TNFRSF25.
