Background
Retinol-binding protein 4 (RBP4) is a kind of vitamin A carrier protein synthesized in liver and widely distributed in human blood, urine and other body fluids, which plays a decisive role in assisting vitamin A to play its physiological function. Recent studies have shown that when the proximal renal tubules are damaged, the content of retinol-binding protein 4 in human blood or urine will be increased to varying degrees. At the same time, it has a certain correlation with the development of diabetic nephropathy, nutritional diseases and other diseases in clinic. The determination of RBP4 has been used as one of the effective and mature indexes to determine renal function. At present, the clinical detection of retinol-binding protein 4 is mainly the traditional enzyme-linked immunoassay and immunoturbidimetry, etc. In recent years, with the continuous improvement of research level, the detection method of RBP4 has gradually turned to a new rapid detection method.
