Flow cytometric analysis of C57BL/6 mouse bone marrow labeling mouse Ly-6G at 1/2000 (0.1 μg) dilution / (Right panel) compared with a Rat IgG, Isotype Control / (Left panel). Goat Anti - Rat IgG Alexa Fluor® 488 was used as the secondary antibody. Then cells were stained with CD11b - Brilliant Violet 510 separately. Gated on myeloid cells.

Background
Ly-6G protein is a GPI (glycosylphosphatidylinositol)-anchored protein. Ly-6G is primarily expressed on monocytes, neutrophils, and T cells. It plays a crucial role in inhibiting anti-tumor efficacy and T-cell responses. Due to its specific expression on neutrophils, Ly-6G has been widely used as a surface marker in flow cytometry, cell sorting, and immune phenotyping experiments. Unique expression of Ly-6G in bone marrow indicates its involvement in hematopoietic microenvironment, potentially regulating the development or function of immune cells within the bone marrow niche.
