Background
Phospho-STING (Ser366) protein is a phosphorylated form of the stimulator of interferon genes (STING) protein, specifically phosphorylated at serine 366. STING is a key component of the innate immune system, playing a crucial role in the cytosolic DNA sensing pathway. When phosphorylated at Ser366, STING is activated and promotes the production of type I interferons and other pro-inflammatory cytokines in response to pathogen-associated molecular patterns or DNA damage. This phosphorylation event is essential for the downstream signaling cascade that leads to the activation of immune cells and the initiation of an antiviral or antibacterial response. Abnormal regulation of Phospho-STING (Ser366) has been implicated in various immune-related diseases, making it a potential target for therapeutic interventions.
