Background

Phospho-p90RSK (Ser380) refers to the p90 ribosomal S6 kinase (p90RSK) protein specifically phosphorylated at serine residue 380, a critical post-translational modification that serves as a key indicator of the kinase's activation status within the Ras/MAPK signaling pathway. As a downstream effector of ERK1/2, p90RSK undergoes sequential phosphorylation events where phosphorylation at Ser380 in the C-terminal kinase domain facilitates the subsequent phosphorylation of the N-terminal kinase domain, thereby fully activating the enzyme to regulate diverse cellular processes including cell proliferation, survival, differentiation, and motility.
