Flow cytometric analysis of Human CD115 expression on human peripheral blood leukocytes. Human peripheral blood Leukocytes were stained with either PerCP-Cy5.5 Rat IgG1, κ Isotype Control (left panel) or PerCP-Cy5.5 Rat Anti-Human CD115 Antibody (right panel) at 5 μl/test, treated with True-Stain Monocyte Blocker™. Flow cytometry and data analysis were performed using BD FACSymphony™ A1 and FlowJo™ software.

Background
CD115, also known as Colony-Stimulating Factor 1 Receptor (CSF1R) or M-CSF receptor (M-CSFR), is a 972-amino-acid cell-surface glycoprotein encoded by the CSF1R gene (c-FMS proto-oncogene) that belongs to the type III receptor tyrosine kinase family; it serves as a receptor for the cytokines CSF-1 and IL-34, and is highly expressed on monocyte-lineage cells and osteoclasts, mediating their survival, proliferation, differentiation, and motility through ligand-induced oligomerization and transphosphorylation, with mutations linked to myeloid malignancies and increased expression observed in Alzheimer’s disease microglia and breast carcinogenesis .
