Background
PBX1 (PBX homeobox 1) is a nuclear transcription factor belonging to the TALE/PBX homeobox family. It functions by binding to specific DNA sequences (such as 5'-ATCAATCAA-3') and regulating gene expression, often in complex with MEIS and HOX proteins. PBX1 plays crucial roles in embryonic development, including skeletal patterning, osteogenesis, and sexual differentiation. It is strongly expressed in tissues like the kidney and brain, and its dysregulation, notably through the t(1;19) chromosomal translocation, is closely associated with pre-B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

Immunocytochemistry
ICC shows positive staining in HeLa cells. Anti-PBX1 antibody was used at 1/500 dilution (Green) and incubated overnight at 4°C. Goat polyclonal Antibody to Rabbit IgG - H&L (Alexa Fluor® 488) was used as secondary antibody at 1/1000 dilution. The cells were fixed with 100% ice-cold methanol and permeabilized with 0.1% PBS-Triton X-100. Nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (Blue). Counterstain with tubulin (Red).
