Background

CD90, also known as Thy-1, is a 25-35 kDa glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI)-anchored glycoprotein and a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily. It is expressed on various cell types, including T cells, neuroglial cells, fibroblasts, and some endothelial cells. CD90 plays important roles in cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions, cell adhesion, and differentiation. It is also a marker for several types of stem cells, such as mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and hematopoietic stem cells. Additionally, CD90 is involved in integrin-mediated signaling pathways and can regulate cell migration and stiffness sensing.

Flow cytometric analysis of Rat CD90 expression on SD Rat splenocytes. SD Rat splenocytes were stained with PE Mouse Anti-Rat CD3 Antibody and either Pacific Blue Mouse IgG1, κ Isotype Control (left panel) or SDT Pacific Blue Mouse Anti-Rat CD90 Antibody (right panel) at 2μl/test. Total viable cells, as determined by Fixable Viability Dye 545 (S0B88802), were used for analysis. Flow cytometry and data analysis were performed using BD FACSymphony™ A1 and FlowJo™ software.
