Background
Dengue virus (DENV) nonstructural protein 1 (NS1) is a 352-amino acid protein that exists in various oligomeric forms and is conserved within the flavivirus family. While extensively studied for its diagnostic potential, the role of NS1 in viral processes like replication and the development of clinical pathologies, including vascular leakage, remains incompletely understood. Many of these functions likely involve interactions with viral and host proteins that are yet to be fully elucidated.
