Background
NMT1 is a cytosolic monomeric enzyme that catalyzes the irreversible, co-translational transfer of myristic acid from myristoyl-CoA to the N-terminal glycine of nascent polypeptides, a modification essential for membrane targeting, signal transduction, and stability of oncogenic kinases (e.g., Src, FAK), and its overexpression in cancers promotes proliferation, suppresses autophagy, and supports metabolic reprogramming through specific regulation of AMPKβ myristoylation, making it a validated therapeutic target.

Immunohistochemistry

Counterstained with hematoxylin. Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris/EDTA buffer pH9.0 was performed before commencing with IHC staining protocol.
