IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded mouse liver. Anti-Neutrophil Elastase (ELA2) antibody was used at 1/2000 dilution, followed by a HRP Polymer for Rabbit IgG (ready to use). Counterstained with hematoxylin. Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris/EDTA buffer pH9.0 was performed before commencing with IHC staining protocol.

Background
Neutrophil elastase is a serine protease stored in azurophilic granules of neutrophils, released during inflammation to degrade extracellular matrix components including elastin, collagen, and fibronectin. While essential for immune defense against pathogens, dysregulated activity contributes to tissue destruction in chronic inflammatory diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis, and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). It also modulates inflammatory signaling by processing cytokines and chemokines, making it a therapeutic target for inflammatory and autoimmune conditions.

IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded mouse lung.
IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded mouse spleen.
Negative control: IHC shows negative staining in paraffin-embedded mouse cerebral cortex.
