Background
Matrix metalloproteinase-9 (MMP9), also known as 92 kDa type IV collagenase, 92 kDa gelatinase or gelatinase B (GELB), is a matrixin, a class of enzymes that belong to the zinc-metalloproteinases family involved in the degradation of the extracellular matrix. MMP9 has been found to be associated with numerous pathological processes, including cancer, placental malaria, immunologic and cardiovascular diseases. It has been investigated in tumor metastasis diagnosis- Complexes of Gelatinase B/Tissue Inhibitors of Metalloproteinases are seen to be increased in gastrointestinal cancer and gynecologic malignancies

Immunohistochemistry
IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded human spleen. Anti-MMP9 antibody was used at 1/200 dilution, followed by a HRP Polymer for Mouse & Rabbit IgG (ready to use). Counterstained with hematoxylin. Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris/EDTA buffer pH9.0 was performed before commencing with IHC staining protocol.
IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded human tonsil.
IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded human breast cancer.
IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded human lung squamous cell carcinoma. Anti-MMP9 antibody was used at 1/200 dilution, followed by a HRP Polymer for Mouse & Rabbit IgG (ready to use).
