Background
MFF (Mitochondrial Fission Factor) is an evolutionarily conserved, tail-anchored outer-mitochondrial-membrane receptor that serves as the principal platform for recruiting the cytosolic GTPase Drp1 to sites of future organelle division, thereby initiating the oligomerization of Drp1 into a helical collar that constricts and finally severs the mitochondrion in a GTP-driven reaction, while also integrating peroxisomal fission, controlling mitochondrial size, number and distribution, and acting as a crucial node for post-translational and lipid-mediated signals that tune the balance between fission and fusion in response to metabolic stress, cell-cycle cues and pathological stimuli such as those observed in cancer and cardiovascular disease.

Immunocytochemistry
ICC shows positive staining in HeLa cells. Anti-MFF antibody was used at 1/500 dilution (Green) and incubated overnight at 4°C. Goat polyclonal Antibody to Rabbit IgG - H&L (Alexa Fluor® 488) was used as secondary antibody at 1/1000 dilution. The cells were fixed with 100% ice-cold methanol and permeabilized with 0.1% PBS-Triton X-100. Nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (Blue). Counterstain with tubulin (Red).
