Background
KLC1 (Kinesin Light Chain 1) is a component of the kinesin-1 motor protein complex that plays a crucial role in microtubule-based intracellular transport. It functions primarily by coupling specific cargo (such as organelles and vesicles) to the kinesin heavy chain and modulating its ATPase activity. Highly abundant in the brain and spine, KLC1 is essential for axo-dendritic transport, and mutations in the KLC1 gene have been linked to neurodevelopmental disorders and movement abnormalities like dystonia.

Immunohistochemistry
IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded human cerebral cortex. Anti-KLC1 antibody was used at 1/800 dilution, followed by a HRP Polymer for Mouse & Rabbit IgG (ready to use). Counterstained with hematoxylin. Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris/EDTA buffer pH9.0 was performed before commencing with IHC staining protocol.
