Background
KCND2, also known as Kv4.2, is a voltage-gated, Shal-type potassium channel subunit that generates rapidly inactivating A-type outward K⁺ currents essential for the early repolarization phase (phase 1) of cardiac and neuronal action potentials; it is expressed most abundantly in brain and heart, forms tetrameric channels at the plasma membrane (including dendritic spines and T-tubules) where it interacts with auxiliary subunits and the actin-binding protein FLNC to fine-tune excitability, and its gain- or loss-of-function has been linked to cardiac arrhythmias, epilepsy and developmental neurological disorders.

Immunohistochemistry
IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded mouse cerebral cortex. Anti-KCND2 antibody was used at 1/500 dilution, followed by a HRP Polymer for Mouse & Rabbit IgG (ready to use). Counterstained with hematoxylin. Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris/EDTA buffer pH9.0 was performed before commencing with IHC staining protocol.
