Background
Islet1 is a transcription factor protein that plays a crucial role in the development and differentiation of various cell types, particularly in the nervous system and the pancreas. In the nervous system, it is involved in the specification and maturation of motor neurons and interneurons, helping to guide their proper formation and function during embryonic development. In the pancreas, Islet1 is essential for the development of endocrine cells, including those that produce insulin and other hormones. Its expression is tightly regulated and its dysfunction has implicated been in developmental disorders and diseases such as diabetes.

Counterstained with hematoxylin. Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris/EDTA buffer pH9.0 was performed before commencing with IHC staining protocol.

Immunocytochemistry
ICC shows positive staining in SH-SY5Y cells. Anti- Islet1 antibody was used at 1/100 dilution (Green) and incubated overnight at 4°C. Goat polyclonal Antibody to Rabbit IgG - H&L (Alexa Fluor® 488) was used as secondary antibody at 1/1000 dilution. The cells were fixed with 4% PFA and permeabilized with 0.1% PBS-Triton X-100. Nuclei were counterstained with DAPI (Blue). Counterstain with tubulin (Red).
