Background
Mac-2 protein, also known as galectin-3, is a β-galactoside-binding lectin that plays key roles in cell adhesion, inflammation, fibrosis, and tumor progression by interacting with glycoproteins such as Mac-2-binding protein (Mac-2BP/90K) to modulate immune responses and extracellular matrix interactions.
