Background
Interleukin-15 (IL-15) is a pleiotropic cytokine discovered in 1994, belonging to the 4-α helix bundle family of cytokines, which also includes IL-2. It plays a critical role in the immune system, particularly in the activation, proliferation, and survival of immune cells such as T cells, natural killer (NK) cells, and NKT cells.
