Background
PVRIG (also known as CD112R) is an immune checkpoint protein belonging to the DNAM-1/TIGIT/CD96 family. It interacts with its ligand, PVRL2 (CD112), which is expressed on antigen-presenting cells and tumor cells. PVRIG functions as a co-inhibitory receptor, primarily expressed on T cells and NK cells, and plays a critical role in modulating immune responses. By binding to PVRL2, PVRIG suppresses T-cell and NK-cell activation, contributing to immune evasion in cancers.
