Background

The  Human Cytoplasmic Marker antibody is a mouse-derived monoclonal antibody that specifically targets a human cytoplasmic antigen, particularly in neural cells, without cross-reacting with the cytoplasm of mouse, rat, or monkey cells. This makes it highly valuable for tracking the survival, migration, and differentiation of human cells in xenotransplantation studies. STEM121 is commonly used in immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence to label human cells transplanted into model animals (e.g., mice, rats), ensuring experimental accuracy and reliability. In earlier literature, it was also referred to as SC121 and has been widely applied in neural stem cell transplantation research.

Immunohistochemistry

IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded human cerebral cortex.  Human Cytoplasmic Marker antibody was used at 1/1000 dilution, followed by a HRP Polymer for Mouse & Rabbit IgG (ready to use). Counterstained with hematoxylin. Heat mediated antigen retrieval with Tris/EDTA buffer pH9.0 was performed before commencing with IHC staining protocol.

IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded human colon.

IHC shows positive staining in paraffin-embedded human kidney.

Negative control: IHC shows negative staining in paraffin-embedded mouse cardiac muscle.

Negative control: IHC shows negative staining in paraffin-embedded rat cerebral cortex.
