Background

HSP90α and HSP90β are highly conserved molecular chaperones that facilitate the folding, stabilization, and activation of diverse client proteins—including kinases, transcription factors, and hormone receptors—thereby maintaining cellular proteostasis and signal transduction. While sharing ~85% sequence identity and a common domain architecture, the inducible HSP90α and constitutively expressed HSP90β exhibit distinct tissue distributions and functional specializations in stress responses and oncogenic pathways.
