Background
Goat IL-8 (Interleukin-8), also known as CXCL8, is a potent pro-inflammatory chemokine that plays a pivotal role in the recruitment and activation of neutrophils to sites of infection or tissue injury in goats; it is primarily secreted by monocytes, macrophages, and epithelial cells in response to inflammatory stimuli such as bacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) or pro-inflammatory cytokines like TNF-α and IL-1β, and functions by binding to the G-protein-coupled receptors CXCR1 and CXCR2 on target cells, thereby triggering intracellular signaling pathways that mediate chemotaxis, degranulation, and respiratory burst of neutrophils. As a key mediator of the acute inflammatory response, goat IL-8 is not only essential for host defense against microbial pathogens but also contributes to the pathogenesis of various inflammatory diseases in goats, including mastitis, pneumonia, and enteritis; consequently, it serves as an important biomarker for diagnosing and monitoring inflammatory conditions in veterinary medicine, and its neutralization is increasingly explored as a potential therapeutic strategy to mitigate excessive inflammation and tissue damage in caprine health management.

Linearity
The concentrations of Goat IL-8 were measured and interpolated from the target standard curves and corrected for sample dilution.
#1 sample is undiluted samples are as follows: Goat serum was 2fold dilution. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted. The mean target concentration was determined to be 29.86 ng/mL in Goat serum.
#2 sample is undiluted samples are as follows: Goat plasma-EDTA was 2fold dilution. The interpolated dilution factor corrected values are plotted. The mean target concentration was determined to be 13.72 ng/mL in Goat plasma-EDTA.
