Flow cytometric analysis of Mouse CD122 (IL-2Rβ) expression on C57BL/6 mouse splenocytes. C57BL/6 mouse splenocytes were stained with APC Rat Anti-Mouse CD49b antibody and either FITC Rat IgG2b, κ Isotype Control (Left panel) or SDT FITC Rat Anti-Mouse CD122 (IL-2Rβ) Antibody (Right panel) at 5 μl/test. Flow cytometry and data analysis were performed using BD FACSymphony™ A1 and FlowJo™ software.

Background
CD122, also known as interleukin-2 receptor beta (IL-2Rβ), is a 75 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein that serves as the shared signaling subunit for the IL-2, IL-7 and IL-15 cytokine receptors; upon ligand binding it heterodimerizes with IL-2Rγc to activate JAK1/JAK3–STAT5, PI3K–AKT and MAPK pathways that drive survival, proliferation and cytolytic programs in T, B, NK and memory T cells, making it a central regulator of both lymphocyte homeostasis and potent target for immunotherapies against cancer and autoimmunity.
