Background

Signal regulatory protein α (SIRPα), also known as SHPS-1, is a transmembrane protein. SIRPα is highly expressed on the membranes of myeloid cells, such as macrophages, granulocytes, monocytes, and myeloid dendritic cells. It regulates cell migration and phagocytic activity, as well as immune homeostasis and neural network formation.
