Flow cytometric analysis of human CD6 expression on human PBMCs (human peripheral blood mononuclear cells). Human PBMCs were stained with Brilliant Violet 421™ Mouse Anti-Human CD14 Antibody and either APC Mouse IgG2b, κ Isotype Control (left panel) or SDT APC Mouse Anti-Human CD6 Antibody (right panel) at 2 μl/test. Flow cytometry and data analysis were performed using Agilent NovoCyte Quanteon and FlowJo™ software.

Background
CD6 (Cluster of Differentiation 6) is a human protein encoded by the CD6 gene. This gene encodes a protein found on the outer membrane of T-lymphocytes as well as some other immune cells. The encoded protein contains three scavenger receptor cysteine-rich (SRCR) domains and a binding site for an activated leukocyte cell adhesion molecule. The gene product is important for continuation of T cell activation.
