Flow cytometric analysis of Mouse TCR Vα2 expression on BALB/c mouse splenocytes. BALB/c mouse splenocytes were stained with Brilliant Violet 421™ Rat Anti-Mouse CD3 Antibody and either Rat IgG2a, L Isotype Control (Left panel) or SDT Alexa Fluor® 488 Rat Anti-Mouse TCR Vα2 Antibody (Right panel) at 5 μl/test. Flow cytometry and data analysis were performed using BD FACSymphony™ A1 and FlowJo™ software.

Background
TCR Vα2 is a distinct TCR subfamily found in mice with a, b, and c haplotypes. It is a variable region of the T cell receptor (TCR) that plays a crucial role in recognizing antigens bound to major histocompatibility complex (MHC) molecules. The TCR Vα2 subfamily is often expressed in both CD4 and CD8 subsets of T cells, although its expression can be skewed to CD8 cells when combined with certain TCR β-chain transgenes. It is also involved in the positive selection of CD8+ T cells in the thymus.
