Background
Alpha-1-antichymotrypsin (AACT), also known as SERPINA3, is a serine protease inhibitor primarily synthesized in the liver and secreted into the blood. It is an acute-phase protein involved in the inflammatory response and has a molecular weight of approximately 47.651 kDa.
