Flow cytometric analysis of Human CD183 expression on Human PBMC. Human PBMC (peripheral blood mononuclear cells) were stained with Brilliant Violet 421™ Mouse Anti-Human CD3 Antibody and either PE Mouse IgG1, κ Isotype Control (Left panel) or PE Mouse Anti-Human CD183 Antibody (Right panel) at 1.25 μl/test. Flow cytometry and data analysis were performed using BD FACSymphony™ A1 and FlowJo™ software.

Background
CD183, also known as CXCR3, is a 38–41 kD seven-transmembrane G-protein coupled receptor that belongs to the C-X-C chemokine receptor family. It is highly expressed on T cells (Th1), natural killer cells, dendritic cells, mast cells, alveolar macrophages, and some B cells. CXCR3 binds to three chemokines: CXCL9 (MIG), CXCL10 (IP-10), and CXCL11 (I-TAC), and plays a crucial role in mediating chemotaxis and cell proliferation in immune responses. It is involved in the recruitment of inflammatory cells to sites of inflammation and is associated with various inflammatory and autoimmune diseases. Additionally, CXCR3 has different isoforms, such as CXCR3A, CXCR3B, and CXCR3-alt, each with distinct functions.
