Flow cytometric analysis of Mouse CD186 expression on C57BL/6 mouse splenocytes. C57BL/6 mouse splenocytes were stained with Brilliant Violet 421™ Rat Anti-Mouse CD3 antibody and either Alexa Fluor® 488 Rat IgG2b, κ Isotype Control (Left panel) or SDT Alexa Fluor® 488 Rat Anti-Mouse CD186 Antibody (Right panel) at 5 μl/test. Flow cytometry and data analysis were performed using BD FACSymphony™ A1 and FlowJo™ software.

Background
CD186, also known as CXCR6, is a 39 kD G-protein coupled chemokine receptor with seven transmembrane-spanning regions. It is expressed on various immune cells, including activated and memory T cells, NKT cells, and some plasma cells. Its ligand is CXCL16, which is expressed by macrophages, dendritic cells, and liver endothelial cells. CD186 plays a role in cell migration and recruitment to inflamed sites and is also a coreceptor for HIV and SIV.
