Background
OR2805 is a fully human IgG1 monoclonal antibody that targets CD163, an immune-suppressive receptor highly expressed on tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) within the tumor microenvironment. This antibody was discovered using B cells from an elite responder to checkpoint inhibitor therapy. It has the potential to relieve immunosuppression caused by M2c macrophages, thereby enhancing anti-tumor T-cell responses. In preclinical studies, OR2805 demonstrated significant anti-tumor activity in lung cancer xenograft models and did not trigger the release of major cytokines in human whole blood. Currently, it is being evaluated in clinical trials as a potential cancer immunotherapy, both as a monotherapy and in combination with checkpoint inhibitors.
