Flow cytometric analysis of Mouse CD196 expression on C57BL/6 mouse splenocytes. C57BL/6 mouse splenocytes were stained with FITC Rat Anti-Mouse CD45R/B220 Antibody and either Alexa Fluor® 647 Armenian hamster IgG Isotype Control (Left panel) or SDT Alexa Fluor® 647 Armenian hamster Anti-Mouse CD196 Antibody (Right panel) at 5μl/test. Flow cytometry and data analysis were performed using BD FACSymphony™ A1 and FlowJo™ software.

Background
CD196, also known as CCR6, is a seven-transmembrane, G-protein-coupled receptor that belongs to the beta chemokine receptor family. It is predominantly expressed on B lymphocytes, certain subsets of effector and memory T cells, and immature dendritic cells. CCR6 is a receptor for the CC chemokine CCL20 and also binds with lower affinity to beta-defensin 2. This receptor plays a crucial role in mediating the trafficking of immune cells to epithelial sites near the skin and mucosal surfaces during inflammatory and immunological responses.
