Flow cytometric analysis of C57BL/6 mouse bone marrow labelling CD11b antibody at 1/500 dilution (1 μg) / (right panel) compared with a Rat IgG2b, κ Isotype Control / (left panel). Goat Anti-Rat IgG Alexa Fluor® 488 was used as the secondary antibody. Then cells were stained with Pacific blue™ Rat Anti-Mouse Ly-6G/Ly-6C antibody separately. Total viable cells, as determined by Fixable Viability Dye 662 (S0D0016), were used for analysis. Flow cytometry and data analysis were performed using BD FACSymphony™ A1 and FlowJo™ software.

Background
CD11b, also known as integrin alpha M (ITGAM), is a cell surface receptor belonging to the integrin family and primarily expressed on immune cells such as macrophages, monocytes, neutrophils, and NK cells. It forms a heterodimer with CD18 to create the β2 integrin complex, which is crucial for mediating cell adhesion, migration, and immune responses. CD11b plays a significant role in leukocyte recruitment and activation during inflammation and immune responses by interacting with ligands like ICAM-1 and iC3b. Additionally, it is involved in phagocytosis and immune regulation in various diseases, including cancer and autoimmune conditions.
