GLUT14 (SLC2A14) is a gene duplication product of GLUT3, sharing 94.5% amino acid sequence homology with it, but GLUT14 is mainly expressed in the testis, where its mRNA level is approximately four times that of GLUT3, while it is almost not expressed in brain tissue.
